Updated Skincare Routine

Trying different types of skincare products to find the right fit for you can be tasking on the skin and yourself. It took me a while to learn that I had combination skin with oily parts and dry parts. Unlike most I would go in blindly trying plenty and any products I heard good things about. Not such a great idea on my face, I would have dry patches or my face would have a react. I got smarter over time and would spend time reading articles that would help me better understand.

Mornings in our home can be hectic; even with the pandemic going on the kids wake up early and were all trying to brush our teeth and getting ready for the day. I used to be able to wake up before the kids and do my skincare routine before applying makeup on. Now I am left with roughly 10 minutes of time to myself in the bathroom, which is me brushing my teeth, washing my face then applying my creams. CeraVe and Cetaphil have been and always will be my budget-friendly facial products I gravitate when ever in the drugstore. The Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser is great for all skin types and doesn’t leave your face feeling stripped or dry. The CeraVe Skin Renewing Day Cream has SPF 30 which helps protect my skin when I am in the backyard with the kids. It also has retinol which can help even skin tone and reduce the signs of aging. If your like me a mom of three and in you’re 30’s then anything anti-aging will help. I have also been using the CeraVe skin Renewing Crem serum around the spots on my face that I would need a little extra help, around my eyes and mouth.

My nightly routine has changed to using Acure’s Seriously Soothing Cleansing Cream, it feels smooth on the skin. The smell of this cleanser is actually very soothing, and using it before bed is cleansing. My Oldest even uses this on her skin at night as well. Acure is a brand that prides itself on being Paraben-free, Sulfate-free, Mineral oil free, Petrolatum-free, Formaldehyde free, Cruelty-free. After washing my face, I apply the Sunday Riley’s Luna Sleep Night Oil, first using with my fingers then pressing it in with a facial roller. This product is pricy I do have to give that disclaimer, but it’s worth it. After a few weeks, I noticed my pores minimize. The smell is a little strong; once it soaks into the skin, the smell goes away. I like to use the Biossance Squalane and Omega Repair Cream which also helps with fine lines and keep skin moisturized. I got mine from Influenster and have been using ever since. For Lip care, I use the Milani Lip scrub and Carmex classic lip balm to keep my lips smooth.

Face Rollers have been a new thing for me; I have seen them everywhere for such a long time. Initially, I said I didn’t need one because hello, I have my hands, and what’s the point of having all the different rollers head. I read an article on Glamour about how they help produce collagen along with improving circulation. I bought one and got the privilege to try one out for free from Then I met Jade. When the kids are in bed, and I am done with all my work, I will sit in bed after applying my Sunday Riley’s Luna Nigh Oil and give myself a little facial. The light pressure I used on my skin helps me feel calm and ready for bed.
