B's Unicorn Birthday Party
Having a birthday party for B didn’t start till she was three years old. My summer baby, she was the only one that could have an outdoor party. This year she was all about Unicorns, so the Pinterest dive was then created. How could you not want to go to Pinterest when it comes to children’s party ideas. My Pinterest Board was covered with Funfetti Dip, Funfetti Whoopie Pies, Rainbow Unicorn Ice cream and so much more. Not only did I procrastinate in actually getting all the things I needed for her party but I then waited till a couple of days beforehand to make everything lol.
She wanted this insanely big cake for her birthday party. We were on a budget so improvising was needed, I ordered a 10” cake covered in silver glitter from her favorite bakery. The filing was Oreo moose cake with vanilla buttercream frosting. I was on the hunt for some unicorn cake toppers and there were so many out there. We ordered the unicorn cake topper from Amazon that came in a couple days. She was insistent on having some LOL Dolls on it after I piped on the “Unicorn Mane” with Purple and Blue Icing. I also ordered her Unicorn backdrop from amazon with the unicorn eyes and crown to make the rest of her party.
She wanted her friends to have a Photobooth along with Unicorn Photo Booth Props. On Pinterest, I found that some DIY Photobooth made with table covers. I purchased three rectangular table overs teal blue, pink and purple. After Folding in half and laying them on top of each other, I then proceeded to cut them into strips. Once everything was cut which took me about 30 minutes, I proceeded to tie them around a PCP pipe that we were using for a backdrop when filming. Once all done it looks so cute and the colors went perfect with the theme.
B and her siblings loved every single moment of her party. She was so impressed with the way it all turned out. Will I do it again, honestly I don’t think so. The next birthday will be a simpler party like a more experienced-based party like a slime party or a painting party because it is more about the experience not so much on how it looks and spending unnecessary money on excessive decorations. I thought of this due to us implementing a minimalistic lifestyle with our family.
